Sevilla

Seville has the appearance of a stage where shows are on every single day. It is hard not to be captivated by the charm of this city. In the bars and alleys of the centre guitars are being played and the rhythm of flamenco and sevillanas seems to be present everywhere.

Andalusia’s capital city lies along the river Guadalquivir, whose banks are bordered with palm trees and white façades. The oasis-like patios of the houses of the old town and the cosy little squares where people spend the warm summer nights give the city an atmosphere of Southern climate, warmth and easy living that is unique even in Spain. The Gothic cathedral with its Moorish tower built in the era of domination by the Arabs -the Giralda-, the lively quarter of Santa Cruz – the old Jewish quarter – and the Alcázar (palace) of Peter the Cruel are some of the most outstanding places of interest. At night, we recommend you to visit some of the wine taverns of the quarters of Triana, Arenal or La Macarena, where Sherry is served directly from the barrel.

In Jerez de la Frontera, between Seville and the Atlantic Ocean, the country’s most important Sherry cellars are located. They invite you to take part in guided tours and wine tasting. This is also the place where you can admire the impressive horse shows of the Royal Andalusian School of Artistic Horse riding. – Go to Lifestyle
